Reset My Chromecast

Soft reset the Chromecast:

Step 1:
Make a backup. Be aware you may lose data in the process of resetting your device.

Step 2:
From the Chromecast app you will find the option to reset under ‘Settings’ or ‘Menu’

hard reset the Chromecast:

Hold down the button on your Chromecast for at least 30 seconds or until the solid light begins flashing.
